The Russian Federation’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine. The Permanent Council adopted Decision No. 1479 on the recommendation to adopt a decision on the time and place of the next meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council. Increasing military involvement of certain NATO member States in yet more confrontation in and around Ukraine. The elections in Belarus and the deteriorating human rights situation in that country. Elections in Belarus held on 25 February 2024. The death of Mr. A. Navalny and the dire human rights situation in Russia. The Western alliance’s gross attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of Russia. Invocation of the OSCE Moscow Mechanism to address the arbitrary detention of Ukrainian civilians by the Russian Federation amidst human rights violations and the humanitarian impacts of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
