Security Days

Launched in 2012, the Security Days are multi-day, OSCE-hosted events for prominent experts from government, think-tanks and academic institutions, civil society, youth and media to discuss 21st-century security threats and challenges.

Background

The Security Days examine select security issues from many different viewpoints in line with the OSCE’s comprehensive approach to security and in keeping with the diversity of contexts in the OSCE area and neighbouring regions. They are intended as a platform for sharing experiences and good practices and offer an opportunity to examine emerging trends and priorities for action.

The event was created as part of the OSCE’s efforts to promote initiatives and create platforms for many different forms of dialogue at various levels, so as to counter misperceptions, decrease tensions, prevent conflict and promote stability across the OSCE region. On the OSCE side, participants regularly include representatives of participating States and of Partners for Co-operation.
