ZAGREB, 22 October 2001 (OSCE) - OSCE officials are visiting Croatia, from 22 to 24 October, to gain a first-hand impression of a number of war-affected areas in the country where the OSCE has offices. The OSCE Mission to Croatia is hosting the visit.

The participants will visit towns in central and southern Croatia, including Zadar, Gracac, Udbina, Gvozd, Vojnic and Glina. During their visit, they will meet local officials in Udbina and Zadar, as well as representatives of the local OSCE offices, in order to discuss issues such as refugee return, reconstruction of property, economic revitalization, democratization and the judiciary. In Zadar, the delegation will also meet a number of civil society, media and church representatives.

Among the participants is Ambassador Ulrich Knüppel, the Head of the European Commission Delegation to the International Organizations in Vienna, and representatives of other participating States, including Romania, which is currently holding the OSCE Chairmanship.
