Sociological Study on the Gender Dimension of Civil and Political Participation in Armenia

The report presents the findings of a sociological survey-based quantitative study to provide a comparative description of women's and men's participation in socio-political processes. It identifies social, economic, political, educational, advocacy, moral-psychological, traditional, stereotypical and other driving factors that promote or obstruct women's fully-fledged participation in those processes. The survey aims to contribute to the formulation and implementation of state gender policies and to the strengthening of mechanisms that enhance women’s representation in power and women’s participation in decision-making and other socio-political processes.
The study was conducted by Kovkas Social Studies Center within the framework of the UNFPA Combating Gender-Based Violence in the South Caucasus Project. The English translation of the publication was prepared and published with the support of the OSCE Office in Yerevan.
