The Ukrainian media community has been challenged by the conflict to seek answers to questions that have never been so urgent before: What’s the role of ethics and self-regulation in times of crisis? What is the role of the media as an agent of social change? How can the media contribute to dialogue and give voice to those who need it, avoiding segregation and discrimination?
The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine strives to support the media community in finding answers to these questions, and is pleased to invite journalists, media practitioners, editors, students and media outlet managers to participate in one-week immersive workshop on the role of ethics in journalism with a focus on coverage of conflict-affected communities. The training will be conducted in Kyiv, on 9 – 14 March, 2016 as part of a project on supporting conflict-sensitive journalism in Ukraine, supported financially by the British Embassy in Kyiv.
Candidates should send the completed application documents by 25 February 2016 to mediaethicsua@osce.org.
