- Project period:
- 2022 - 2027
- Implemented by:
- OSCE Secretariat, Partners for Co-operation
Overview
Since 2022, this annual programme allows participants from OSCE Asian and Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation countries to take part in a two-week Study Visit with the OSCE.
In the course of the Programme, young diplomats and experts have the opportunity to learn about the OSCE through briefings and presentations, and to participate in OSCE events. The Study Visit usually includes briefings regarding the history and structure of the OSCE as well as the Organization’s activities on conflict prevention and resolution, economic and environmental governance, gender equality, youth, transnational threats, combating trafficking in human beings and partnerships.
The candidates also visit other OSCE Executive Structures, including the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media (RFoM) and the Vienna office of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCEPA). Every year, the Programme includes a visit to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) in Warsaw or the Economic and Environmental Forum in Prague.
This project has been specifically designed for young diplomats and experts from OSCE Partners for Co-operation who are not eligible for the OSCE Junior Professional Officer Programme. This provides an alternative way to gain insights on the OSCE's mandate and work.
The OSCE Partners for Co-operation are Afghanistan, Algeria, Australia, Egypt, Israel, Japan, Jordan, the Republic of Korea, Morocco, Thailand and Tunisia.
