The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine announces the selection of participants for the training "Information and Media. How to Avoid Harm and Increase Benefit" to train future leaders of media literacy clubs. Local public activists, journalists and media experts from the regions of Ukraine are invited to participate.
The purpose of the training is to help participants become leaders in promoting media literacy and to promote the creation of local clubs. The five most successful participants will have an opportunity to conduct pilot events in their communities, with PCU’s support.
Training and pilot regional events take place within the framework of the national media literacy project - Filter, initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

Application deadline: 6 September 2021.
Participation costs, including accommodation, meals and transport, are covered by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine.
During the training, the participants will learn:
- the basic rules of media literacy;
- how to identify manipulative information and avoid it;
- techniques for information verification;
- criteria for trusting and not trusting the information;
- practical skills and methodology for further self- trainings.
Requirements for participants:
- be an active citizen with experience of community service in the field;
- have experience in the region, in particular in a unified local commune;
- have experience in the field of information, media literacy, and combating information manipulation and misinformation;
- understand the information space of the region.
