Training for Trainers on Human Rights Education

To strengthen the capacity of teachers to promote human rights education in secondary schools, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine in co-operation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine will conduct a tailored training for 25 selected educators. The special focus will be on developing and designing concrete human rights education activities, which the participants will implement later in their schools or pedagogical retraining institutions.
Participants of the trainings will have the opportunity to improve their knowledge in key human rights principles and concepts, mechanisms of human rights protection, specifics of human rights online; and strengthen their skills in applying various instruments to develop educational curricula and human rights activities for different target groups.
The training will envisage:
- intensive three-day training on teaching and promoting human rights;
- highly-qualified trainers;
- interactive and adult education training methods;
- new knowledge and methodological skills through practical individual and team work;
- further mentoring to help the participants promote human rights education after the training;
- access to information resources that will help the participants advance professionally in the sphere of human rights;
- thrill of the opportunity to absorb new influences, meet like-minded people;
- certificate of training completion recognized as part of the professional retraining.
Participants will be selected on a competitive basis. Details of the procedure are described in attachment.

The training is fully covered by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, and is held within the project “Supporting Legal Education Reform and Sustainable Human Rights Education” implemented jointly with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
