The Permanent Council decided to open three new Centres in Central Asia to promote the implementation of OSCE principles and commitments, as well as the co-operation of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan within the OSCE.
In their work, special emphasis would be placed on the regional context in all OSCE dimensions - the politico-military, the economic and environmental and the human dimensions of security.
The centres would facilitate contacts and promote information exchange with the Chairman-in-Office, other OSCE institutions and the OSCE participating States in Central Asia, as well as promote co-operation with international organizations and institutions. They would maintain close links with local authorities, universities, research institutions and non-governmental organizations.
