OSCE PA President Severin to visit Canada and the United States

COPENHAGEN, 8 June 2001 (OSCE) -The President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA) will pay official visits to Canada and the United States from 11 to 14 June 2001.
During his visit to Ottowa on 11 and 12 June, Mr. Severin will have meetings with the Speaker of the Senate, the Honourable Dan Hays and the Speaker of the House of Commons, the Honourable Peter Milliken, as well as with the Canadian Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Honourable John Manley, and members of the Canadian Delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Mr. Severin will also hold meetings with Bill Graham, MP, Treasurer of the OSCE PA and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade.
In Washington, on 13 and 14 June, Mr. Severin will have meetings with senior leaders of the US Congress, including Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, House Minority Leader Richard Gebhardt, US Representative Steny Hoyer, Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell and Senator Chris Dodd. Mr. Severin will also meet senior representatives of the US Administration including Deputy Secretary of State, Richard Armitage, as well as the President of the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI), Mr. Kenneth Wollack.
