When
10 October 2008 (All day)
Where
Madrid, Spain
Organized by
Governments of Spain and Morocco in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), International Labour Organization (ILO) and the OSCE
At the 2007 Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD), the Governments of Spain and Morocco were asked to organize a one-day expert seminar in collaboration with relevant international organizations, namely the IOM, the ILO and the OSCE.
Experts from governments, international organizations, academia and other relevant sectors will review and further elaborate the Compendium on good policy practices in bilateral temporary labour arrangements that was called for by the GFMD. A further objective is to form the basis for an analytical paper synthesizing key good practices and lessons learnt with regard to bilateral temporary labour arrangements.
The Compendium and analytical paper will feed into the discussions at Roundtable 2.1 on 'Fostering More Opportunities for Legal Migration', co-chaired by the Governments of Canada and Bangladesh, at the GFMD in Manila, 29-30 October 2008.
