OSCE Office trains young politicians in Azerbaijan on organization, communication skills
The OSCE Office in Baku conducted a three-day train-the-trainers seminar on political party development for youth wings of political parties in Azerbaijan. Some 20 young people attended the event, which took place from 10 to 12 May 2013.
The participants were from political parties represented now or in the past in the parliament . The goal of the seminar was to give young people the opportunity to develop training mechanisms and pass on the knowledge that they had gained within their own parties.
“These seminars not only give young people new skills and understanding of the democratization process of the country, but they also provide an opportunity to bring people from different political perspectives together in dialogue,” Nicholas Detsch, the Head of the Democratization Unit at the OSCE Office in Baku said at the opening. “We believe that it is especially important for young people in Azerbaijan to build bridges across political divides.”
The participants presented the results of homework tasks carried out since the previous training event in March. They also learned how to improve their organizational and communication skills, and about OSCE election commitments.
