OSCE condemns murder of Milan Levar in Croatia
ZAGREB, 11 September 2000 - The OSCE Mission to Croatia strongly condemns the murder of Milan Levar, a potential witness for the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), in Gospic, Croatia, on 28 August 2000. This act is not only an attack on a human life but also an attack on public security, rule of law and democratic society.
The Mission welcomes the determination of government institutions fully to investigate the assassination and to bring the culprit(s) to justice.
The Mission stresses again that there is no alternative to full co-operation with the ICTY in The Hague.
