Training on implementation of system for free legal aid in Ukraine

This event will focus on the core provisions of the Ukrainian Laws on Advocacy and on Free Legal Aid, as well as the relevant provisions of Ukaine’s Code of Criminal Procedure.
Training participants will include representatives of local governmental authorities, lawyers, and academics dealing with issues of free legal aid in Ukraine.
Further training courses supported by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine (PCU) will take place in Simferopol on 26 October 2012, in Odesa – on 9 November 2012 and in Lviv – on 23 November 2012. They will focus on the implementation of a system of free secondary legal aid, which is scheduled to start on 1 January 2013.
The training seminars are part of a PCU project aimed at supporting the development of the legal-aid system in Ukraine.
