The two-day training seminar for appeal court judges and advocates will focus on the implementation of the positive obligations of Ukraine under international human rights law. In particular, the event participants will discuss Ukraine's OSCE commitments in the sphere of judicial practice and implementation of the practices of the European Court of Human Rights in civil and criminal cases in Ukraine.
The seminar is organized in the framework of a PCU project aimed at fostering human rights and the rule of law in lawmaking practices in Ukraine. Similar training seminars will be organized by the PCU in Rivne (21-22 September 2012) and Uzhhorod (5-6 October 2012).
