The same day the SMM together with the Joint Centre for Control and Co-ordination (JCCC) facilitated and monitored adherence to the ceasefire, enabling the resumption of operations at the water filtration station in Yasynuvata.

The water filtration station in Yasynuvata stopped operating on 4 March due to continuous active fighting, leaving about 400,000 residents of Yasynuvata, Avdiivka and parts of Donetsk city without water.

Moreover, the presence of chemicals for water treatment poses an additional threat and could lead to an environmental disaster in the event of a direct hit.

Thanks to a co-ordinated large-scale and complex operation with daily SMM patrols to four strategic locations, the station has since been working uninterrupted at its full capacity.

At the destroyed bridge in Stanytsia Luhanska, SMM monitors saw large numbers of elderly men and women, among them many with walking difficulties, crossing with great difficulty and danger to themselves.

SMM Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug urged both sides to repair the bridge and create a safe environment for people crossing.
