Project “Safeguarding Human Rights though Courts, Phase Two” implemented by the OSCE Secretariat Extra-Budgetary Support Programme for Ukraine, in co-operation with Project “Support to the Functioning of Justice in the War and Post-war Context in Ukraine” implemented by the Division of Co-operation Programmes of the Council of Europe, are holding on 30 November – 1 December 2023 the XI Annual International Forum on the Case-law of the European Court of Human Rights.
The following issues will be discussed during the XI Annual International Forum on the Case-law of the ECtHR:
- derogation from convention obligations;
- freedom of movement: possible limitations in the interest of national security and defence of the state;
- Ukraine's execution of decisions of the European Court of Human Rights during the war;
- the correlation between the international humanitarian law and international human rights law;
- issues of consideration of interstate cases at the ECtHR;
- discrimination during the war; etc.
The event will be attended by judges of the ECtHR, the Supreme Court and courts of general jurisdiction, representatives of the judiciary, legislative and executive branches of government, practicing lawyers, academics, representatives and international experts of the Council of Europe and OSCE.
Judges, representatives of judicial authorities and representatives of various legal professions can also take part in the Forum in online format on the ZOOM platform, with prior registration. A link to connect to the event on the online platform will be sent to participants after confirmation of participation.
