OSCE POLIS web platform for police professionals now in Spanish
VIENNA, 8 May 2009 - The OSCE's Policing OnLine Information System (POLIS) is now available in Spanish, in addition to the recently introduced French version.
POLIS, a web platform for law enforcement professionals created and supported by the OSCE's Strategic Police Matters Unit, was the first multilingual OSCE web project when it was launched in November 2006, featuring English and Russian interfaces. It provides a one-stop shop for all aspects of law enforcement activities in the OSCE area, including police assistance, training curricula, a policing events calendar and short-term job opportunities for policing experts.
Kevin Carty, the OSCE's Senior Police Adviser and Head of the Strategic Police Matters Unit, said: "POLIS continues to be developed. Along with the translated POLIS interface, the Spanish version includes titles and descriptions of all digital library items, with the aim of giving Spanish-speaking law enforcement professionals improved access to policing resources."
