Ambassador Yaşar Halit Çevik is the Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.

Biography

Ambassador Yaşar Halit Çevik is Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine. He took up his position on 1 June 2019 after being appointed by the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák.

Prior to this appointment, Ambassador Çevik served as Turkish Ambassador to Syria and Greece as well as Permanent Representative of Turkey to the United Nations. In Turkey he served as  Deputy Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during 2009-2012

Mr. Çevik graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Science.
