OSCE Secretary General highlights partnership during Belgrade visit

BELGRADE, 14 July 2026 – OSCE Secretary General Feridun H. Sinirlioğlu visited Belgrade today, where he met the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister, Đuro Macut, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marko Đurić.

Discussions focused on the OSCE's long-standing partnership with Serbia, the country's reform priorities, and regional co-operation. The Secretary General reaffirmed the OSCE's continued commitment to regional stability and support for Serbia, including through the work of the OSCE Mission to Serbia. The Mission’s activities are aligned with the Government's stated priorities and implemented in partnership with the Serbian authorities, independent institutions, the media, national minority representatives, academia, professional associations and civil society organizations.

"I reaffirm the OSCE's strong commitment to supporting Serbia's reform priorities and to working together to advance security, democratic governance, the rule of law, and respect for human rights for the benefit of all. Our Mission to Serbia works closely with our field missions across South East Europe, building cooperation across all three dimensions of security: political-military, economic and environmental, and human rights. This benefits the entire region.”

Concluding the visit, the Secretary General highlighted the OSCE's continued support for Serbia's reform efforts through practical co-operation with national institutions.
