Call for applications — 2024 South-Eastern Europe Model OSCE
The OSCE is pleased to announce a call for applications for “Model OSCE 2024” with a regional focus on South-Eastern Europe.
We are looking for students and young professionals who are passionate about comprehensive security and committed to engage in a simulation game focused on negotiation and conflict resolution.
What is the Model OSCE?
The aim of the Model OSCE is to build confidence and strengthen dialogue between young women and men with different backgrounds and empower them by enhancing their knowledge and skills on OSCE principles, values and processes which they can apply and promote in their respective professional, political and civic engagement roles.
Participants will represent an OSCE participating State and/or other relevant actors who work together to resolve a crisis. During the three-day event, participants will receive negotiation skills training and learn about the work of the OSCE, OSCE structures and consensus-based decision-making.
This event is a part of the series of Model OSCE events that will be organized at local, sub-regional and regional levels to promote dialogue and mutual understanding among young people.
How does the programme work?
Participation in Belgrade: participants are expected to travel to Belgrade and stay for the whole period of the activity (29 to 31 October 2024 three whole days). The programme will include presentations about the OSCE, current challenges to security, training sessions on negotiations, gender equality, fact-checking, dialogue and others. The core activity will be a simulation exercise of an OSCE related negotiation. Networking opportunities with OSCE representatives will also be organized.
Costs: participation in the Model OSCE is free of charge. Accommodation, transportation and meals will be covered for the duration of the event.
