The workshop will be held by TNTD in partnership with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI). It will gather 129 participants representing 39 participating States and 8 Partners for Co-operation, as well as a number of representatives from the private sector and international organizations and associations. The agenda will cover a wide range of issues related to the role for public-private partnerships in securing tourists and tourism assets against the threat of terrorism; the costs of terrorist attacks at tourist destinations, and how security can be enhanced at major events.
