Proper wearing of the protective chemical suit. Educational video

During the chemical emergencies, first responders are always at the forefront in the fight to save lives and the environment. Proper use of the protective clothing and means of individual protection of skin and respiratory organs is crucial for safety of rescuers at the epicenter of an accident. This training video demonstrates step-by-step process of putting on and removing of a protective chemical suit and means of individual protection of skin and respiratory organs. It is intended for education of first responders working in an area of chemical, biological or radioactive contamination.

All stages of putting on and taking off are featured visually and supplemented with key information highlights, since every detail is important for the protection of rescuer in the hazardous area.

The video, produced in June 2022, complements a collection of training materials developed by the OSCE to improve the training of State Emergency Service personnel involved in responding to chemical emergencies. These materials are available here: https://www.osce.org/project-coordinator-in-ukraine/511486.

The effort was part of the “Enhancing Ukraine’s Chemical Emergency Response Capacity” project implemented with the financial support of Finland, the U.S. Mission to the OSCE and German Federal Foreign Office and in partnership with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
