  War-affected areas near Kyiv: ongoing struggle to restore normal life

                    On Wednesday, 15 June 2022, Ambassador Henrik Villadsen, the OSCE Project Co-ordinator, visited towns and villages that were  the epicenter of heavy fighting in February-April in the attempted attack of Russian troops on Kyiv.         
        The aim of the visit was to get aware of the scope of international assistance needed in the area, including in Makariv, Borodianka, Irpin and Bucha. Even though the focus of the trip was humanitarian demining, the OSCE is also assisting Ukraine in many other spheres, including assessment of the environmental damage, addressing chemical security threats, enhancing system of psychosocial rehabilitation of affected popolation and others.
