The Charter was adopted during the second Summit of Heads of State or Government of the Conference for Security and Co-operation in Europe (CSCE), held in Paris from 19 to 21 November 1990, underscoring the end of the Cold War and setting the basis for what is today the OSCE. In the preamble, leaders emphasized that: “The era of confrontation and division of Europe has ended. We declare that henceforth our relations will be founded on respect and co-operation.”
The goal of the event is to reflect on the Assembly’s longstanding work in supporting the OSCE since its inception and to explore its role in contributing to the Organization’s activities in the future.
The invited high-level speakers, experts and legislators across the OSCE region will have an opportunity to exchange their views and valuable insights on the current state of the Organization and deliberate on new initiatives to stimulate effective implementation of the OSCE toolbox.
The event features contributions from:
- Head of the French Delegation to the OSCE PA, Sereine Mauborgne
- Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Jean-Yves Le Drian
- OSCE PA President, George Tsereteli
- Vice Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Agron Tare
