17th Autumn Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly

On the agenda: countering new challenges and threats in border areas through confidence-building and regional co-operation, strengthening citizens’ engagement in building secure societies
On 3-6 October, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will gather in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, for its 17th Autumn Meeting. The meeting will include a Parliamentary Conference on “Promoting Security Dialogue in Central Asia and Beyond” and a Mediterranean Forum on “Geopolitics of Central Asia and the Mediterranean: Addressing Migration, Trade and Environmental Challenges.”
Expected speakers at the event include:
- President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov
- Toraga of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic Dastanbek Dzhumabekov
- OSCE PA President George Tsereteli (Georgia)
- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, Italian 2018 OSCE Chairmanship Guglielmo Picchi
Also speaking will be representatives of OSCE field operations in Central Asia, OSCE PA Special Representatives on Mediterranean Affairs and Gender Issues, and a representative of the Chairmanship of the OSCE Contact Group with the Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation.
Hosted by the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic, all meetings except for the Official Inaugural Session will take place at Hotel Damas in Bishkek. The Official Inaugural Session will take place at the Ala Archa State Residence.
