Media Self-Regulation: Rules for the New Reality. Recommendations of the Commission on Journalistic Ethics
Self-regulation in the media in the modern world is becoming an increasingly important aspect to ensure the objectivity and professionalism of informational materials. The Commission on Journalistic Ethics and the OSCE Support Program for Ukraine, together with journalists participating in the seminar "Media Self-regulation: Rules for the New Reality," which was organized on April 23-27, 2025, have developed recommendations that contribute to improving the quality of media products and maintaining the trust of viewers and readers in news information without violating ethical journalism standards. Timely verified information, acknowledgment and correction of one's own mistakes, and understanding the feelings of others are the basic rules that every media outlet and journalist should adhere to.
