The training course is aimed at dialogue facilitators and mediators who wish to acquire and / or enhance their knowledge and skills on conflict management in times of war. The course is based on a training needs assessment in both professional communities that was conducted with the OSCE’s support in December 2023 – April 2024.
The course consists of three three-day modules taught by a team of trainers (Inna Tereshchenko, Svitlana Petrova, Alona Horova and Oleh Ovcharenko). Participation in modules one and two is mandatory. Participants for the final module three shall be selected on a competitive basis among trainees who have completed modules one and two. After course completion, participants will receive certificates. The training schedule is as follows:
- Module One: 21 October 2024 (All day) - 23 October 2024 (All day)
- Module Two: 13 November 2024 (All day) – 15 November 2024 (All day)
- Module Three: 09 December 2024 (All day) – 11 December 2024 (All day)
The course aims at:
- Supplying dialogue facilitators and mediators with knowledge and skills that will help them effectively respond to new challenges arising in connection with the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and related changes,
- Promote the development of partnerships between both communities by introducing mediation tools to dialogue facilitators and dialogue facilitation tools to mediators,
- Enhancing knowledge and skills on the application of trauma-sensitive, gender analysis, as well as
- Preventing burn-out of mediators and dialogue facilitators, as professionals managing conflicts, by expanding fatigue prevention and self-care knowledge and skills.
Training-associated costs are covered by the organizers.
Dialogue facilitators and mediators wishing to participate are kindly requested to fill-in an application form by 07 October 2024, 11:00 (GMT+3, Kyiv).
