Every day, thousands of women and girls, in each and every country, experience violence within their families, in the workplace and in public spaces, both in times of conflict and in times of peace.
The OSCE is firmly committed to combating all forms of violence against women, and is joining the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign between 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, through to 10 December – International Human Rights Day.
Events that the OSCE is organizing to mark this year's 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence
• MachoMen Theatre performance and MenEngage Expert meeting
OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe
• Radio Programme "Life without violence"
OSCE Office of the Representative on Freedom of the Media
• Safety of Female Journalists Online (SOFJO) awareness raising campaign
• Supporting the only shelter and hotline for victims of domestic violence in the country
OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina
• "Fighting for Gender Equality in Courtroom" Conference
• Theatrical performance to raise public attention to the problem of domestic violence
• FemSaloon initiative (serial of sessions) to support constructive conversions and dialogue for gender issues, particularly on gender based violence
