The first of five seminars on new registration procedures for civil society organizations started in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv on 27 November 2012 with support from the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine.
Staff from the registration services of regional and local justice departments as well as civil society organizations are taking part.
The seminars focus on new regulatory and enforcement mechanisms for implementing registration procedures included in the recently adopted Ukrainian Law on Public Associations.
Four similar seminars will take place in Odessa (30 November), Dnipropetrovsk (3 December), Kirovohrad (6 December) and Kyiv (10 December).
The events are being organized by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine together with Ukraine’s State Registration Service as part of a project aimed at enhancing the capacity of governmental bodies and civil society organizations in the implementation of the Law on Public Associations.
The project is being implemented in co-ordination with the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights and funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom.
