OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine supports skills training for judges

A series of training seminars for Ukraine’s administrative court judges, supported by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine (OSCE PCU) starts on 26 September 2011 in Kyiv.

Three 3-day courses will be held for administrative court judges to improve their legal writing skills, particularly in drafting quality and well-reasoned decisions.

The programme is based on the draft handbook on opinion writing, which is being developed by the OSCE PCU. By the end of 2011, the OSCE PCU will have trained over 75 judges of administrative courts based on this methodology.

Training sessions are scheduled in Kyiv for 26-28 September, 10-12 October and 5-7 December 2011.

The training series forms part of an OSCE PCU project to strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian public servants, including judges, to better protect the rights of persons in their relations with the state.
