On 4 - 5 May Adil Akhmetov, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Combating Intolerance and Discrimination against Muslims, Rabbi Andrew Baker, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Officeon Combating Anti-Semitism and Massimo Introvigne, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Combating Racism, Xenophobia and Discrimination, also Focusing on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians and Members of Other Religions will visit Italy to discuss measures taken by the Italian Government to combat intolerance and discrimination in compliance with the relevant OSCE commitments.

During the visit the three Personal Representatives will have meetings with respective Italian Government officials from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Education, University and Research, members of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, also representatives of non-governmental organizations and religious communities.

On 6 May the three Personal Representatives will visit the Holy See and have meetings with respective Holy See officials, including Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, Secretary for the Holy See’s Relations with States, Bishop Mario Toso, Secretary of the Pontificial Council for Justice and Peace and Bishop Brian Farrell, Secretary of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity and Vice President of the Commission for Religious Relations with Jews.

Personal Representatives will also visit the Italian Section of Aid to Church in Need and the Council for Interreligious Dialogue to discuss ways to promote mutual understanding, respect and collaboration between various religious traditions.
