Representatives from numerous international and non-governmental organizations, as well as the OSCE and its participating States, attended the meeting, which addressed environmental problems these regions face.

The main goal was to: 

  • provide a high-level technical forum for advancing discussions on sustainable forestry 
  • promote an exchange on measurable criteria and indicators for evaluating progress in efforts to achieve sustainable forestry 
  • examine the state of data collection and monitoring activities in relation to the criteria and indicators identified
