Discussions included the diversity of situations and of legal, historical, political and economic backgrounds that affect persons belonging to them. They shared practical experience with national minorities, particularly regarding national legislation, democratic institutions, international instruments and other possible forms of co-operation. The implementation of CSCECSCE
Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe commitments and improving relevant standards was also considered.
