VIENNA, 8 June 2007 - On the occasion of the Extraordinary Conference of the States Parties to the CFE Treaty, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs and U.S. Delegation Head to the Conference Daniel Fried will answer questions from journalists.
The press conference will be held on Tuesday, 12 June, at 12:30 p.m., before the opening of the Conference. It will take place in Segment Gallery I of the Hofburg Congress Centre (1st floor).
On 28 May 2007, the Russian Federation officially requested the Depository of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE Treaty), the Government of the Netherlands, to convene an Extraordinary Conference in Vienna on 12-15 June 2007.
Conference proceedings are not expected to be open to the public. //www.osce.org/conferences/cfe_2007.html contains general information about the conference.

Please provide your name, the name of the media outlet you work for and a mobile phone contact number. Journalists who do not register will not be able to enter the building.
Journalists who have registered for the event should bring their OSCE badges or valid press cards to the OSCE security desk at the Hofburg Congress Centre (main entrance from Heldenplatz). Please note that no parking is available for journalists on Heldenplatz on this day.
