Susanne Frueh

Susanne Frueh is the Director for Internal Oversight Services (OIO) and in this capacity directs evaluation, internal audit and investigations.

Susanne brings with her over 20 years of experience in the area of oversight, mostly in evaluation with leadership positions in UNCDF, WFP, UNOCHA, UNJIU and UNESCO.  Most recently, she was the chair of the United Nations Evaluation Group a network of all evaluation offices in the UN system and she has served as chair of the UN Representatives of Internal Audit. 

Her operational and policy experience spans three decades of the UN’s development, post conflict and humanitarian activities in all continents.  During this time, she supported the development and implementation of peacebuilding strategies agreed to by UN Peacebuilding Commission, managed the UN Peacebuilding Fund, and managed a large portfolio of sustainable development trust funds while with the UN Office for Project Services. She has a Masters (MSc) in Geography from the University of South Carolina, a certificate in corruption control from Harvard University and is a credentialed evaluator as well as a certified auditor.
