OSCE Secretary General meets Albania’s Defence Minister

OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier met Albania’s Minister of Defence Mimi Kodheli on 7 April 2017 during her bilateral visit to Austria.

The Secretary General and the Minister exchanged views on current developments in Albania and the wider region, and discussed Albania’s co-operation with the OSCE.

Zannier reaffirmed the OSCE’s strong support for the reforms underway in Albania and the Organization’s readiness to continue assisting with the country’s electoral process, including through the observation of the next parliamentary elections.

The Secretary General recalled the contribution of the OSCE Presence in Albania to the safe disposal of surplus conventional ammunition and dangerous chemicals in the country and exchanged views with the Minister on transnational challenges, including on cyber security, and ways the OSCE could assist in addressing them.

Minister Kodheli thanked the Organization for its consistent support to the country.
