About

The conference intends to make use of the comprehensive OSCE approach to security allowing a cross-dimensional discussion on current counter-terrorism issues, including kidnappings for ransom, human rights and counter-terrorism, and "foreign fighters". The conference will facilitate a discussion on current challenges, issues and policy options in key areas for international cooperation in the fight against terrorism as well as to promote law enforcement and intelligence co-operation and the rule of law in order to prevent and counter terrorism. The conference is organized by the Swiss OSCE Chairmanship with the support of the OSCE Transnational Threats Department, in co-ordination with the OSCE Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.

Thomas Wuchte, Head of the OSCE Transnational Threats Department/Action against Terrorism Unit, tells more about the conference, the issues being discussed as well as the OSCE’s role in combating them.
