A two-day training course for 25 lawyers organized by the OSCE took place in Baku on 6 June 2013.

The purpose of the event, which was held in the Justice Academy, was to improve the lawyers’ advocacy skills and to assist Azerbaijan in increasing the overall quality of legal representation. National experts gave presentations on the theoretical and practical aspects of interviewing clients and legal counselling.

“This training programme is an important part of our activities in support of Azerbaijan’s efforts to improve compliance with OSCE Commitments,” said Giovanni Galzignato, Head of the Rule of Law and Human Rights Unit at the OSCE Office in Baku.

The Office organized the event together with the Collegium of Advocates and the Justice Academy in Azerbaijan.
