OSCE Office helps Belarusian police officers learn about modern police education
MINSK, 11 October, 2010 - Twenty-five Belarusian police officers will learn about modern police education methods during an OSCE-supported training course that started today in Minsk.
The five-day course is taught by two Hungarian police training experts.
"A good police education is the foundation for a professional police service," said Ambassador Benedikt Haller, Head of the OSCE Office in Minsk. "This course supports Belarus' efforts to improve its law enforcement service in line with international standards by highlighting modern police education methodologies, including dialogue and learner-centred teaching."
The course was organized with the support of the OSCE Strategic Police Matters Unit as part of OSCE work to improve police performance and strengthen national criminal justice systems.
