OSCE Experts lead advanced crime investigation course in Tbilisi Police Academy
TBILISI, 19 December 2005. - Twenty Georgian crime police instructors today completed the advanced crime investigation course at the Tbilisi Police Academy, which was a joint effort of the OSCE Missions to Georgia and Kosovo.
Within the framework of the OSCE Short-Term Assistance Programme, Georgian police instructors received training in human rights issues and democratic principles in crime prevention.
Early in December, cadets at the police academy completed the three-week basic crime investigation course.
In order to further develop democratic values within the Georgian police, Ambassador Roy Reeve, the Head of OSCE Mission to Georgia, and Steve Bennett, the Director of the OSCE-run Kosovo Police Service School (KPSS), agreed to assign two experts from the KPSS to adapt and deliver the basic and advanced crime investigation courses for the Police Academy in Tbilisi.
