The OSCE Mission to Tajikistan together with the UNDP and Dushanbe City Department of Education will organize an International Day of Poverty Eradication 2001 for around 300 school children from poor families.

The seminar will focus on the indictment, the judgment, the impeachment, the appeal against a judgment, and the limits on the principle of finding the truth. Press and OSCE staff members are welcome to attend.

A seminar on 'Preventive Functions of the OSCE: Experience, Possibilities, Tasks' will be held in Kiev, Ukraine, on 8 and 9 October 2001.

Representatives of local authorities will take part in a one-day training seminar on how to use and distribute information, co-operation with political parties and NGOs, and the principles of information governance in democratic society.

Co-operation among international, sub-regional and non-governmental organizations, as well as with academic institutions, was the theme of the two-day Seminar on Preventive Functions of the OSCE: Experience, Possibilities, Tasks.

The conference will be a pratical and action-oriented meeting, with a focus on concrete strategies and impact assessment. A strong emphasis will be put on developing practical skills and on learning lessons from a range of concrete cases.

The seminar will focus on the history of the Treaty and its main provisions. The work of the Open Skies Consultative Commission will be reviewed, including lessons learned from the application of the Treaty and the conduct of observation…

The session, the final in a series of five in the region, will discuss the role of women in politics and how they can contribute to democratic governance in Kosovo.
