Equality, Identity, and Diversity: Gender Dimension of Equal Protection. Training

The OSCE Support Programme for Ukraine invites applications for the training course "Equality, Identity, and Diversity: The Gender Dimension of Equal Protection," to be held from 5 to 8 November 2026 in Zakarpatska Oblast. Civil servants, staff of the Secretariat of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, representatives of civil society and professional legal organizations, as well as legal practitioners working on human rights protection, equality, and non-discrimination are encouraged to apply.

The training aims to develop practical skills in applying gender-sensitive legal argumentation and human rights-based approaches. Participants will learn how to identify discrimination within legal norms and practices, incorporate the gender dimension into case analysis, and substantiate legal positions in accordance with the principles of equality and non-discrimination.

The event will cover the following topics:

• equality and non-discrimination in the constitutional protection of human rights;

• gender stereotypes and their impact on legal decisions;

• gender-sensitive legal argumentation;

• protection of the rights of LGBT individuals and non-discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. 

• application of international and European equality standards in legal practice.

The program includes the analysis of real-life cases, expert discussions, and practical group assignments. This format will allow participants to practice the use of relevant approaches in their professional work and exchange experiences with colleagues.

The training will be delivered by Mykhailo Savchyn, Olena Boryslavska, and Olena Kharytonova.
