The Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Georgia, organized a regional seminar on Good Governance and Fighting Corruption in Transport Infrastructure Development in the South Caucasus on 5-6 November 2009 in Batumi, Georgia.
The seminar gathered some 35 government and business representatives from the transport infrastructure development sector in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Through the participation of EU public and private sector representatives it presented a good opportunity for the sharing of international best practices and expertise. It is expected to improve the institutional capacity of the public authorities concerned to set up transparent and accountable procurement and tendering processes.
The seminar was funded through contributions by the Governments of Belgium and France.
