About

The capacity for a country to rely on affordable energy sources is a key factor for its competitiveness and sustainable development. The OSCE, further to the 2006 Ministerial Decision on Energy Security Dialogue, is promoting, in co-ordination with other relevant international organizations, more efficient use of energy resources and the use of renewable energy among the OSCE participating States.

The regional workshop has been organized by the Office of the Co-ordinator with the support of the Belarusian Government and the OSCE Office in Minsk. It brought together representatives from Central and Eastern European countries, international experts and private sector representatives, and providee the opportunity to exchange expertise and best practices on the themes discussed.

The event  aimed to present the experience of the countries and organizations in the area of energy efficiency in order to share lessons learned on the most effective ways of addressing this crucial challenge.
