About

The aim of the Seminar was to facilitate exchange of good practices and policies between policy-makers, practitioners and private sector representatives and experts from other transition economies on how to create the best conditions for attraction of investment for economic and business development at national and regional levels. Representatives from Afghanistan had also been invited to the event.

The Seminar started with a presentation of the main policy recommendations of the OSCE Best-Practice Guide (see link on the right). An overview of the progress made and the remaining obstacles to an attractive business and investment climate in Tajikistan and Afghanistan has initiatee the discussion. Particular attention has been given to investment incentives and free/special economic zones, and creation of favourable conditions for investment in the agricultural sector to strengthen countries food security.
