The meeting focused on the following topics:
- privatization, restructuring and the environment, legislative and tax reform as an instrument for stimulating environmentally sustainable economic development
- environmental business management
- the role of the private sector in the Baltic Sea Action Programme
Participants discussed major challenges faced by Central and Eastern European countries in developing their economies while maintaining environmental standards. The meeting highlighted the need for regional co-operation in ensuring environmental security.
