ALMATY, 22 October 2007 - Issues relating to a decline in access to water and sanitation, as well as expanding co-operation between countries and stakeholders on shared waters, will be on the agenda of a workshop, organized by the OSCE, UNECE and UNDP, that opens in Almaty tomorrow.
The three-day event, "River basin commissions and other institutions for transboundary water co-operation", will bring together more than 50 decision-makers, scientists and representatives of international and non-governmental organizations from Central Asia and Eastern Europe.
