The theme of this year's Mediterranean Seminar is "The OSCE Mediterranean Partnership: From Recommendation to Implementation".
The event follows the annual tradition of seminars on subjects relevant to both the OSCE participating States and the Mediterranean Partners for Co-operation.
Discussions at the seminar will focus on issues related to:
- the economic and human dimensions of migration (ways to improve the mutual benefits of legal migration between countries of origin and destination; the fight against illegal migration and the integration of legal migrants);
- the role of the OSCE and its Mediterranean Partners in promoting tolerance and non-discrimination (education on human rights and tolerance, legislation, and data collection as tools for combating hate crimes and intolerance); and
- ways and means to improve the dialogue and co-operation between the Mediterranean Partners and the OSCE participating States.
