OSCE Secretary General Jan Kubis and IOM Director General Brunson McKinley signed a formal agreement in Vienna on closer co-operation between the two organizations.
They agreed to exchange information regularly at headquarters and field office levels, hold consultations and other meetings, boost representation at conferences, undertake joint assessments of particular situations and act jointly where desirable.
This document was the second such agreement that the OSCE had signed with an international organization. The first memorandum of understanding was signed on 15 October 1998 with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
